EXILE Infoshop & OPIRG-Carleton’s
Indigenous Solidarity Working Group present:
NO OLYMPICS ON STOLEN LAND!
A Film Screening and Talk by David Cunningham of
Vancouver’s Anti-Poverty Committee
==================================
Thursday, June 14th
Ottawa District Labour Council Boardroom
280 Metcalfe Street, 5th Floor
Ottawa, Ontario
==================================
The Olympics must be exposed and confronted and the fightback must
begin now. The effects of the Olympics are far greater than the games
itself – with gentrification of poor neighbourhoods through draconian
policies such as the Safe Streets Act, increasing privatization of
public services, the expansion of sport tourism on unceded indigenous
lands and increased land tenure to corporations, union busting through
decisions such as the 7-year imposed contract handed down to the
BC Ferry and Marine Workers Union, and exploitative conditions for
temporary migrant labour.
Vancouver’s Anti-Poverty Committee has been on the front lines in the
struggle against the 2010 Olympics. Join David Cunningham, an
organizer with the APC, to hear how people are fighting back.
No Olympics on Stolen Native Land!
